Making a $50M Endowment Campaign as Exciting as a New Building

A well established Theatre Company in New York had conducted several campaigns over the years, all attached to real estate initiatives. These campaigns were successful because they focused on new building construction, creating press and naming opportunities. After this physical expansion, the Theatre Company urgently needed to increase their Endowment and establish maintenance funds for the new buildings.

In order to raise the $50M required, Lynne developed a Case for Support and crafted a compelling vision to successfully raise the funds. In addition, she creatively built excitement around a more conceptual campaign by utilizing unused and newly-created naming opportunities in existing space. This attracted higher-level donors and enabled the public recognition of gifts even though the funds were for less visible needs.

She strategically designed the campaign around major existing tentpoles including the momentum of an important anniversary and high-profile upcoming theatre productions.

The Campaign over-achieved the fundraising goal, ensuring the Theatre Company could enjoy continued success for the next decade and weather headwinds including the Covid Pandemic and 2023 recession.
